Bernard Deltour

Bernard Deltour graduated from the Koninklijke Universiteit Leuven (KUL) in 1988. He has been a member of the Brussels Bar ever since .

Bernard is a specialist in environmental and planning and zoning law. He is considered one of Belgium’s best environmental law practitioners, especially in the areas of waste management, soil pollution and environmental permitting. He is also very well acquainted with food law.

Perfectly bilingual in French and Dutch, he is one of the very few lawyers to work across Belgium’s three regions, where he has acquired a broad experience in litigation, administrative as well as transactional matters.

Bernard mainly advises corporations and trade associations, at European, Belgian federal as well as regional levels, notably in the environmental servicing, chemical, agro-food, energy, distribution, logistics and pharmaceutical industries.

In the early days of his career, Bernard has been working on the personal staff of a regional minister in charge of the environment. This experience has developed his skills in designing balanced approaches to issues of sustainable development.

Bernard practices in English and understands Spanish and German .

He is a regular speaker at conferences, both in Belgium and abroad. He authored various publications, mainly on topics of waste management and soil pollution law.
