Cum laude law graduate (Vrije Universiteit Brussel / VUB) and magna cum laude philosophy graduate (University of Konstanz / UG), Piet Vandoolaeghe was a member of the Brussels Bar Association between 2001 and 2005.
At present he is a member of the Dendermonde Bar Association (as of 2005).
His career has developed through:
activities as a lawyer:
initially Piet Vandoolaeghe mainly focused on intellectual property law (copyright, trademarks, industrial design rights, patents) and on competition law.
Since his registration with the Dendermonde Bar Association his main practices area are: conflicts between partners (withdrawal and exclusion), corporate restructuring, drafting of by-laws, shareholders agreements, commercial contracts, construction law, commercial agency contracts, exclusive sales distribution, international commercial litigation, debt management and corporate criminal law.
scientific activities:
- he was a member of the Institute for European Studies (IES ) and he has published in the field of public – private partnership;
- he is the author of publications regarding license contracts in the context of intellectual property law;
- he assisted with the preparation of the Flemish government position for the 2004 Intergovernmental Conference.
He speaks Dutch, French, German and English and he works in the three regions (Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia).
